A delegation from the Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Union and The National Erasmus Office (NEO) Jordan conducted the first local monitoring visit to the ERASMUS+ project JOVITAL on 25.09.2018.
Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, president of Princess Sumaya Univeristy for Technology, welcomed the delegation and highlighted the importance of joint projects with European institutions for modernizing teaching and learning practices in Jordanian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and enhancing learning outcomes and impact to support local and regional development.
Representatives from the five Jordanian member universities in JOVITAL consortium and a representative from the Technische Universität Dresden, as grant holder and project coordinator, attended the monitoring and reported on the project progress, envisaged benefits, expected impact, and the efforts to ensure its sustainability and wide outreach.
A project meeting found place after the monitoring to discuss the results of the equipment needs analysis conducted earlier in September and a Technology Committee from the Computer Centers at the Jordanian partner universities was established to prioritize the hardware and software products selection and steer the purchasing and implementation process.
